the vbseo

can i ask u guys why you paid some much for the vbseo when there are two mod_rewrite mods out now that do the same thing, plus there are numerous things you can do to help your ranking with search engines for free ?

Mainly because I run it on my Community site (www.nzboards.com) and the results I saw on that site were so good (PR3 to PR5 for main page, PR on individual threads etc) that I decided to also run it here.

I used both DeanC's vB SEO URL rewrite and vBRanking (which was stolen code from the early non-encoded beta days of vBSEO), and neither have the HUGE range of features and options of vBSEO.

For a free alternative, Dean's is the best that I know of, but it doesn't come close to vBSEO.

This is quite an interesting thread since Loco recently talked me into buying VBSEO.

I don't know if there is a direct, always provable link, but.. surely a PR5 page about a given topic is going to rank higher than a PR1 one?

I can confirm that PR+ pages will get spidered quicker
